The need for blood is nonstop. Blood centers must have a readily available blood supply on our shelves in the event of emergencies. On Wednesday morning, May 25, Carter BloodCare and nine other U.S. blood centers sent several units of O negative blood to South Texas, and to our colleagues at South Texas Blood & Tissue to fulfill hospital requests.
We provided blood to South Texas as part of our role in the Blood Emergency Readiness Corps. Donating blood is a powerful, positive way to help others and support our greater community during this horrible crisis in Uvalde. When time is critical, having blood available is lifesaving.
Blood drives are always essential. But your upcoming drive is even more important because of the current National Blood Crisis.
