Council 8157 Welcomes New Knights
Four Catholic gentlemen became new Knights of Council 8157 this past Tuesday evening, October 12, 2021. They came to the Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity accompanied by their wives, children, sister, friends and other brother knights. The new ceremony, which allows family members to be present, takes about 30 minutes from start to finish and that in turn leaves ample time afterwards for social time to get to know each other better. It is a welcome social time to get to visit with the new Knights and their families.
The ceremony was held in the Upper Room of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, on this evening we welcomed Joseph Eubank, Marc Evans, Jose Luis Ramirez and Jesse Zuñiga, all members of Holy Spirit parish for several years. The Degree Team assembled by Team Captain SK Tom Greco included, Peter Perta in the Unity role, Raymond Presas in the Charity role, Jorge Ruiz in the Fraternity role and in the Grand Knight role. Our Worthy Advocate Russell Gully had the Warden role and our own Membership Director Jim Kowalski, who is also a Texas State Council representative as Assistant Diocesan Deputy, presented the rosaries to the candidates.
Our council has made the commitment to again conduct monthly Exemplification ceremonies and with a newly assembled membership team to work on recruitment in between. Our membership goal this year is not just to meet our quota but to exceed it by at least four times, we want 50 new members by the end of June 2022. And with the way things are going, it looks well within our reach.
