Jim and Mary Russell

Jim has pulled KC double duty for years, so to speak, as an officer in both Council 8157 and Fourth Degree Assembly 2799. He is in his fifth fraternal year as the council’s Lecturer, a role to which he devotes great time and effort. He’s also director of the retention committee. With the assembly, he serves as the Faithful Captain, the Fourth Degree equivalent of Deputy Grand Knight. “I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a Knight.,” Jim said. “It’s an even greater honor to be chosen by my brother Knights to serve them as an officer in both the council and the assembly.” He and Mary, his wife of 52 years, are active in multiple Holy Spirit ministries. That includes them being longtime members of the music ministry; they’re mainstays in the 5:30 Saturday choir. Jim retired in 2011 following 30 years with Northrup Grumman and Raytheon. He joined our council in February 2012 and took his major degrees four months later. Jim is from upstate New York and graduated with a degree in general business from Oklahoma State. It was at OSU that he met Mary. They have lived in Cedar Hill since 1972 and began attending Holy Spirit during the second week of the parish’s existence.
