Dr John Thomas “Tom” Goza Feb 17, 1937-Mar 22, 2021.
Dr. Tom Goza, 84, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, March 22nd, and has gone to be with the Lord and reunite with his wife Pat and his son Andy Goza. Tom and Pat Goza were part of the founding families of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and were well known by many in our parish community. They helped with Vacation Bible School at Holy Spirit for many years along with working the faith formation desk every week. Later, you would see them every Sunday putting out donuts in the gym. Their son, SK Andy Goza served as an altar server in his youth and later in life would serve as Grand Knight of council 8157 and as District Deputy in the Dallas Diocese Chapter of the Knights of Columbus.
Tom was the dean of business and technology at Mountain View College. He had a Ph.D. in business and a degree in nursing which helped him establish the nursing program at El Centro College in Dallas. He was also part of the inaugural staff at Grayson County College. In his youth Tom was an athlete who played baseball in college and officiated football in his later years. Tom was also an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by his son, SK John Andrew “Andy” Goza, 54, two years ago and last year by Pat, his wife of 57 years.
We extend our condolences to his daughters Karen and Elizabeth, daughter in law Susan and granddaughter Madison and the rest of the Goza family. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
