John 14:6
Brother Knights !
Council # 8157 has decided to reinstate our lecture series previously given by our esteemed Faithful Navigator SK Jim Russell. The series was temporarily halted in order to shorten the length of our monthly meetings. We are now about to restart these lectures via email on a monthly basis in order to spiritually charge our members with divine knowledge, doctrines of our faith, the principles of the Knights of Columbus in general and of council #8157 in particular.
In John 14:6 Jesus says:
“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me”.
What does this mean ?
Without the Way, no one knows where they are going or how to get there.
Without the Truth, there is no way of knowing.
Without the Life, there is no correct way of living.
Jesus is the Way we must follow, the Truth which we must believe, the Life for which we must hope. He is the steadfast Way, the infallible Truth, the unending Life. He is the Way that is straight, the Supreme Truth of all who seek the truth, the Blessed uncreated Creator. He is the heart of a heartless world, the mercy of unforgiving conditions, He is the salvation of man.
If we follow the Way of the Lord and His Church we shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set us free. If we have honestly done our best and have followed the Commandments of Christ, we shall be rewarded with the perfect and everlasting life of heaven !
