John was first attracted to the Knights of Columbus as a child in his hometown in Nigeria, where he saw Fourth Degree members participating in their ornate attire. When John was an adult in the United States years later, the KC’s provided an excellent avenue from him to give back to his faith community. John came to America in 2008 to study and earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of Southern Mississippi. He interned in San Antonio, took his first job in Minnesota and then came to Texas in 2012. John is a research project manager at Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth. He moved his family from Garland to Grand Prairie two years ago and just recently transferred his KC membership to 8157. John and wife Uzo have been married since 2006 and have three children: sons Kamdi (10) and Oli (6) and daughter Ezinne (4).
