Juan Gomez

Juan joined the Knights in January of 2024.  He has done lots of stuff before that induction.  He was born and lived in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico until he came to the United States at the age of ten.  Thirteen years later he married Erica Guadalupe and together they are raising their five children as well as adopting another.  Their children are Damian (15), Nestos (14), Oscar (13), Ariana (7), Gael (2) and their adopted child Jose Minoz (17).  His family have been members of Holy Spirit for many years – for sure all the years since they move to Desoto where they have lived for the past 9 years.  By profession Juan is a technical engineer – currently working on a technical oil project in west Texas.  But while he is doing this, he is also operating his own business with a shop in Dallas that manufactures insulate glass and as well as doing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.  It’s a wonder he keeps all these balls in the air at the same time.  On top of that, when I asked him what he does with any free time he has he said “I teach my kids on small engine repairs and basic electronics” (they have a shop at their home – they’re currently working on a VW Beetle).  He joined the Knights of Columbus as the urging of Adan Luna, because “I want to help others”.  Well, he certainly joined the right organization.  Many of us met him at the recent pancake breakfast.  We are glad he joined and look forward to seeing him at many more events.
