Obituary
Donald Edmund Heitzman, Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend died peacefully on August 14, 2014. Don was born December 5, 1925 in Dubuque, Iowa. He proudly served his country as a Tech-Sergeant in the US Army/Air Force. He was a long time resident of Dallas and Cedar Hill. His career as a Marketing executive in Aerospace/Defense/Communications spanned over 40 years, affording him the opportunity to travel throughout the world. He was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as a 4th degree Knight, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, and the Cedar Hill Community Development Committee among others. He had a heart for service and was quick to volunteer his time for the benefit of others. He will be remembered for his sweet smile, grateful and loving spirit and devotion to his family and friends. His wife of 61 years, Mary, and daughter, Pam, preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Marsha Heitzman and partner Linda Law, Don Heitzman Jr. and wife, Elizabeth Rondeau, John Heitzman and wife, Cindy, Greg Heitzman and wife, Cindy, Becky Buddenbohn and husband, Tom, and Krista Hodge and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Randy Buddenbohn and wife, Alexis, Eric Buddenbohn and wife, Cara, Matt Heitzman and wife, Katelyn, Elizabeth Sansone and husband, Tim, John and Jesse Hodge, Jake and Carson Heitzman; and great granddaughter, Ava Buddenbohn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Gabi Hardin. He was blessed to have many incredible caregivers.
Rosary and Visitation
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 6-8 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Mass & Burial
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1111 West Danieldale Road, Duncanville, Texas.
Burial will follow at the DFW National Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Happy Hill Farms, 3846 North Highway 144, Granbury, Texas 76048.
