Two Knights awarded special honor & recognition

Our Congratulations to two Council 8157 Knights who have been awarded special honors & recognition.

On January 28 at Bishop Dunne Catholic School, our Brother Knight and Deacon Paul Wood was honored with an annual $40,000 scholarship named after him, the “Paul Wood Scholarship” from the University of Dallas. “I was totally amazed and grateful,” he said. “To have something like that done for you, I’m still dumbfounded.” Deacon Wood attended the University of Dallas where he majored in Psychology and minored in Theology. Deacon Wood also graduated in 1972 from Bishop Dunne where he currently serves as the school’s Director of Technology.

BK Larry Dumais was the recipient of the “Bishop’s Award for Service to Holy Spirit Catholic Church”, awarded during the Mass and ceremony at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe on Feb 22, 2014 in downtown Dallas. In a ceremony during the Mass, Bishop Kevin Farrell placed a personalized medal around the necks of each of 150 people from 77 parishes from the Dallas Diocese for their outstanding service to the church.
