We are men who lead, serve, protect and defend, whether we are giving out Coats for Kids, donating wheelchairs, lending a helping hand in disaster relief efforts, supporting local pregnancy centers or providing top-quality financial products.
On Saturday, February 7th, the Knights of Council 8157 held their quarterly
Corporate Communion and Annual Appreciation Dinner in the church dining room.
Approximately 81 Knights and spouses attended the gala event. Grand Knight Marc
Evans, along with his wife Gilda, did an outstanding job organizing, planning, and
decorating the room with a Mardi Gras theme. The team of Knights involved in helping
with the event included James Smith with the buying of the food along with John
Owen and Dan and Pat Murphy assisting with the decorating. The Catholic Daughter
once again provided a team, lead by Susan Fitzgerald, that served the delicious
Lasagna dinner. After the pre-mass procession into the church for Mass, Father Uche
recognized the Knights for all they do for the church and community. Additionally, before
leading the dinner blessing, he along with our Grand Knight Marc Evans recognized all
the Knights present who had participated in any of the many Knight’s projects throughout
the year.
After a wonderful dinner our DJ, Hector Reynosa, provided music for dancing along with
instructions on how to perform some of the dances. Those who stayed for the dancing
had a wonderful time. Then during the last group dance Past Grand Knight Frank
Salazar and his wife Lourdes provided a solo dance performance.
A great time was had by all. Many thanks to those who helped make this a special
annual event.
