The weekend of 05/31/25- 06/01/25 consisted of Play Pac Sports Grand Slam Classic held at Valley Ridge Park. The tournament consisted of 40 games over the weekend. Saturday night’s last games started at 11 pm due to some games going into extra innings and other delays. Allen was out of town on family business and I want to thank everyone who stepped up to help. John Espree was our leadoff hitter and opened at 6 am Saturday and by 7:30 am people were already knocking. Frank Salazar, Raymond Rivera, Russel Gully, Antonio Razo, Efrain Ochoa, Rod Kinard all worked on Saturday. James Smith was Sunday’s leadoff hitter along with Phil Holifield, Steve Zehnder, Chris Kubin, Morris Curlee, Dr. Nieto, John Owens and our Grand Knight Michael Fitzgerald all worked Sunday. Thanks for volunteering and responding to my text messages. The theme this weekend was bring your children and grandchildren to baseball concessions.
Robert Tovar took his son Robert E Tovar III, Gamaliel Hernandez took his daughter Sophia Hernandez, Adan Luna took his 10 year old son Max Emanuel Luna, Otoniel Santiago also took his daughter Eden Santiago, Dan Murphy took his grandson Phineas Macualay and granddaughter Rylee Via, and Miguel Hernandez took his boys David and Benjamin Hernandez. Those of us who take our children and grandchildren are trying to teach them the value of hard work, giving back and at the same time teaching them skills for the future such as customer service, doing math and charging customers. Like our motto states were putting our faith into action every day. So when I call and or text and if your available respond whether or not you are able to attend and help. out. We need Knights to help cover shifts and to cover the load to ensure it’s not the same Knights every weekend. We have two more weekends of baseball so make sure you respond when I text or call. I’ll leave you with a funny story from Saturday. Some hot dogs fell off the roller grill onto the back of the roller grill and I guess no one noticed. I worked the 4- close shift and noticed the hot dogs and Efrain picked them up and wrapped them all and took them home to his dogs (picture of his dogs waiting patiently for hot dogs lolol).
