Knights Stay Busy

As usual Knights have been busy serving the community.  On July 5th Juan Torres and myself repaired the chimney wall at the home of Art Rodriguez.  Actually Art and I mostly watch as Juan did the work.  The roof was rather steep; but did not deter Juan in the least.  He replaced the rotten wooden trim, repaired the entire chimney wall and then painted the whole thing – all in a couple hours.  Juan was the only Knight with the courage to tackle this job.

On July 8th, Hector Rubio, Ray Rivera and I picked up and delivered furniture and a television from the home of Pat Scholl to the rectory for Fr.Uche.

And also on Monday July 8th a number of Knight gathered to move Felipe Ramirez’s office furniture so that a handicap bathroom could be installed at the church at his old office location.   This involved moving some heavy stuff; particularly a 12’ long by 7’ high bookcase and a number of file cabinets.  Jesse Zuniga, John Owen , Joe Eubank, Dan Keough, and Adan Luna stepped up for this job.  In fact, Joe Eubank went back the next morning to adjust a door opening.

On July 13th, 2025,  John Espree, John Owen Jim Ouimet, Efrain Ochoa, Fred Cairochi, Jack Ramsden, Gamaliel Hernandez, Phil Holifield, (first breakfast for Phil), Marc Evans, Jeff Traub, Lou Lemons, and Larry Balagna were on hand to cook pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, biscuit/gravy, fruit bowl and drinks for a free breakfast for the parish.  (All free-will donations were given to the Capital Improvement Fund). David Ybarra was the head “honcho” at this event and, as usual, it was well orchestrated – in spite of the fact that the grill didn’t fire up.
