Jim and Denise Richardson set a mean pace in their collective involvement at Holy Spirit and in the Catholic Church in general. Jim is in his rst year as our council’s Deputy Grand Knight and also as Faithful Navigator of Fourth Degree Assembly 2799. at means he should end two years overseeing the assembly when he takes over as 8157’s Grand Knight. “I’m glad I’m retired,” Jim said. Denise belongs to Holy Spirit’s Legion of Mary and has been a member of the Carmelite Order for more than 25 years. ey recently participated in activities such as the pro-life events in October. Jim belongs to both Holy Spirit’s First Degree team and the diocese’s Spanish-speaking Major Degree team, the latter being one of two in Texas. Jim became a Knight in the 1960s while living in Laredo, moved here in 1990 and joined the Fourth Degree in 2009 along with his son. e Richardsons have been married 51 years and have four children, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. As Faithful Navigator, Jim was the primary organizer of the assembly’s second annual clergy appreciation dinner held at Holy Spirit in November. He has a business degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and was most recently director of employee relations for Verizon before retiring in 2008.
