We are men who lead, serve, protect and defend, whether we are giving out Coats for Kids, donating wheelchairs, lending a helping hand in disaster relief efforts, supporting local pregnancy centers or providing top-quality financial products.
Barry and LiliBeth Barksdale met in 1988 and Barry says it was love at first sight. She is a Filipino and is retired but a homemaker working at home. Barry is a project coordinator and has been for 26 years working for Frontier Communications. He loves the Philippines and has been there several times. He enjoys the way of life, people, and especially the food. They have two kids, Nadia and Mariah, and one granddaughter. Barry was born on February the 9th, Super Bowl Sunday, and has been a Knight since 2006 when he was recruited and influenced by Dan Murphy, Ed O’Brien, and Chris Kubin. He is the middle child of three children. He and his wife live in Cedar Hill, TX. Barry has volunteered with the Knights doing the Lenten Fish Fry, baseball concessions, and visiting nursing homes while working with Allen Reitmeier on occasion. As a Catholic and former Baptist, he is a man of peace and hopes for the world to have peace in the middle east particularly Israel where he visited just before the war began in 2023. He says people must return to Christ and love one another as well as stop their own selfishness. His wife was a cradle Catholic as he converted for her. He loves to sing, play the bass guitar, go fishing, and cook as well. He says just 45 minutes of fishing is good enough for quiet time. Barry acknowledges that there are more and more elderly Knights who we need to fill in for eventually. He wakes up like clockwork everyday at 4am and has become accustomed to doing so while his free time is mainly on Saturday and Sunday as he looks forward to retirement.
