They work together, too, in their own agency providing Medicare and life insurance. Such an endeavor has required many long hours for years yet they have been contributors to KC and parish life. Lupe participates in the Sunday morning men’s spiritual group and has been a member of 8157 since 2012, when invited to join by Jim Kowalski. He said being a Knight “gives me purpose”. Lupe and Mayela joined the Holy Spirit’s fall festival organizing committee last year and are back on the job this year. Luie is from Dallas, a 1994 Sunset High grad. Mayela is from Monterey, Mexico and became a U.S. citizen in 2006. Daughter Emily is followed by sons Jacobo and Nikolas.
