The Nieto family expanded recently when the oldest of their three daughters, Maria, became Mrs. Luis Martinez at a ceremony in Tulsa in late May. The newlyweds are living in Dallas, not too far from the Nietos’ home in Cedar Hill. Middle daughter Marisa is also in Cedar Hill, having completed work as a Catholic FOCUS missionary. Monica is in Fort Worth, where she works at the Key School and Training Center. Gloria and Robert met at a Catholics singles event at St. Rita in the early 1990s and were married in November 1996. Robert, a Mansfield-based neurologist, joined the council in June 2018. He served as the Recording Secretary for the past three years before being elected Chancellor for the 2026-27 fraternal year. He’s been our director of health activities for six years, one of his primary duties being scheduling and organizing parish blood drives. Robert is a Hospitality Minister at the Sunday 7:30 a.m. Masses, when Gloria serves as one of the regular Lectors, and is a member of the ACTS core team. She’s also a member of the parish’s finance council. “It has been just a wonderful experience just to be a Knight,” he said. “One thing that’s really honed in on as far as my spiritual journey is that God always intended us to be part of a community and in that way we support each other spiritually and in many other ways as well.”
