If you haven’t run across a member of the Limones family at Holy Spirit, then you haven’t bee trying hard enough. Carlos joined the Knights in June 2014, Melisa became the parish’s director of adult and family ministry in June 2017, and they’ve taught in children’s faith formation in recent years. All five of their children (Bibiana, Luis, Laila, Paula and Porfirio) have been altar servers for years, most of them also ascending to altar server captains and thurifers. They’ve all been catechist aides and Vacation Bible School volunteers, too, and we’ve seen Luis behind the desk in the community center as a night monitor. Carlos and Melisa met in 1996 through a friend, started dating a year later and were married in July 2000. Melisa calls being hired at Holy Spirit a blessing: “It brought more patience, love and peace. Every job has its challenges, but at what job do you feel more of Christ’s presence than in your home, our home.”
