I thought we might have been just a bit “over our heads” regarding the latest Knight Hands project. But Juan Torres, Jose Montoya, Hector Rubio and Phil Holifield quickly erased all my reservations. The job required us to replace all the wood framing and trim around the entire garage door and completely replace the rear door. Juan and Jose seemed to know exactly how to replace the rear door and did so in a relatively short period of time with no mishaps. Not only that, but the fit is absolutely perfect. The door closes with a light push and a snug fit. They also replaced the trim on the outside and inside of the door and added a water barrier at the top of the door to prevent future water damage. They did all this before noon. Shirley Joe was most pleased. Shirley is the widow of former Knight, Wilton Joe. You should know that this project was brought about by Jose Montoya, who as Family Director, had made contact with Shirley and reminded her that the Knight of Columbus are here to help widows and orphans.

While Juan and Jose were working on the back door, Hector and Phil removed all the garage door trim and tore out all the old and rotted 2 X 8”s around the garage door. Then, of course, they replace all this material with new stuff and caulked and painted the entire area. Both groups finished about the same time – a little before noon. We had started at 9am. Both Shirley and her daughter were very impressed with our work. Super job, you guys.
