If you look at these before pictures, you got to wonder how in the world we are going to get this mess cleaned up and get a new fence installed. But 6 Knight Hands, on Saturday morning April 15, 2026, were undaunted by this gigantic undertaking and soon began tearing out the old fence and commencing the process of installing a new one. I had some idea how to do that; but the brain power of those working knew better than I, and together they figured out the best way to install the new fence. And by looking at the finished product, they certainly knew what they were talking about. This fence was approximately 80’ long and all the 2 x 4’s and pickets had to be replaced, plus one new post.

They worked out a system where a couple Knight Hands added and positioned the post clamps (mostly Zack Cazares), three Knight Hands installed the 2 x 4 runners (mainly Manuel Urias, David Ybarra, and Larry Balagna). I mostly made sure everyone had enough tools and materials and took pictures. After the 2 x 4 runners were installed, all the guys sort of pitched in and installed the pickets. Jesus Medina made sure the tops were all the same height – hence a good looking fence. Rod Kinard helped with the pickets, but his main task was to do a bit of tree cutting – a couple downed trees and one tree he cut a path so that the new fence would clear.

By the way, this was a Property Improvement Program project. As you know, for the past 8 years, our council has help each spring and fall by taking on a project during P.I.P. Days. Some of us even wore our original P.I.P. shirts. And while the fence was being constructed, Jesus Aguirre and Jesus Medina were busy painting the fascia around the entire perimeter of the home. That went well especially after Jesus Montelogo brought over an 8’ stepladder so Jesus Medina could reach the peak of the dormer on the front of the home.

David Dybala and Jack Ramsden were tasked with installing a new gate going into the back yard. First they had to anchor the hinge post to the brick wall and then fit the gate into the opening. There were a few modification that were needed, but those guys were up to the task and in the end the gate works perfectly – only what you would expect from those two guys. After a short lunch break with pizza from the P.I.P Corporation, the job was done. What an absolutely incredible accomplishment from those 10 Knight Hands – they were finished with this project in about 4 hours – wow!!! It was an honor to just be there to witness these guys working together to help a complete stranger who, by the way was not only very impressed but also very grateful for what Knight Hand did on this Saturday morning. Thank you guys.
