Joel Lopez was born in 1981 in Houston, TX. He moved to Duncanville’s Holy Spirit Catholic Church in October 2023. He was a very active member at Our Lady of Guadalupe downtown beforehand and even served as an altar boy there. He graduated from Duncanville High School and has one brother named Omar. He and his wife, Anna, usually attend the 11am mass or the Spanish mass. Joel lectors at any mass when he has the time. They have five kids and one child on the way. They are: Ariel (8years), Alexa (12 years), Gisselle (18 years), Jocelyn (22 years), and Joel Jr. (25 years). He likes football and boxing as an interest where he began at a young age. He trains kids and has trained them at Ring of Hope boxing club downtown. Joel manages a warehouse in Farmers Branch and has been doing so since 1998. It is on Midway and 635 and he says that being bilingual has helped him at his job because his employees are Latin, Venezuelan, and Mexican. Joel’s father’s name is Romaldo and his mother’s name is Ysidra and they are from San Luis Potosi in Mexico which is known for its beautiful waterfalls. His father came to the US at 16 years old and did landscaping. He suffers from diabetes and has received a wheelchair from the Knights in the past in order to get around. His mother cares for him as well as he and his brother, Omar, who lives in Waxahachie. Joel says he is always working and his wife is a housewife. Joel was also in a terrible car accident 15 years ago and that he needed a metal rod in his leg and plate in his jaw. He is heavily influenced by Mary Flusche and James Smith. He was recruited by Adan Luna and Allen Reitmeier. He likes to go to meetings and get to know people and to keep up with what is going on.
