THE KNIGHTS WILL HANDLE THE PRESENTATION OF THE AWARDS TO THE ATHLETES. Each shift should be comprised of 10 or more volunteers to enable a smooth, efficient process. We will be presenting the awards at the lanes as we did last year. You are welcome to help during one or more shifts on Saturday, Nov 8, and as many days as you can fit into your busy schedules.

This is a great family event. Women are invited to help with the handling of the medals and teenage children are welcome to cheer for the athletes. It is a good opportunity for them to earn volunteer hours.  Only the Knights will present the awards to the athletes unless we are blessed with some celebrities.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SAFE ENVIRONMENT GUIDELINES:

We have been informed by the Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Chair all members of the Knights of Columbus and their family members are encouraged to assist with the upcoming Special Olympics events.  All Knights volunteers must be Safe Environment cleared; Family members and Non-Catholic volunteers are welcome to assist with the presentation of awards and will be paired with a volunteer that has been safe environment cleared.

Thank you so much for all of your commitment and help with Special Olympics and thank you in advance for your great support for these special people.

Fraternally,

Phil Coup, Special Olympics Coordinator for Dallas Diocese
