Approve Minutes of the Prior Meeting – The minutes of our March 3rd General Membership Meeting were posted on the Council’s website on March 16th. A motion was made to accept the minutes as posted. The motion was seconded and the minutes were approved as posted

Diocese of Dallas Chapter Report

• Texas Knights of Columbus State Convention in Dallas April 24-26 at the Sheraton Dallas-Fee is  $20 to attend all the sessions; Jorge Ruiz to provide more details later in meetingQuarterly Meeting of the Diocese of Dallas Chapter -The meeting is Saturday, April 11^th, at St. Gabriel’s the Archangel Church in McKinney, Texas (where Fr. Eugene is Pastor). Meet your fellow Knights from other Councils at this meeting. Breakfast is provided. This is a great time to share ideas and find out what other Councils are doing.
• Wheelchair Mission – March 7-8; We had a pulpit talk by Knight Ricardo Guzman at each mass. We also have a table in Narthex and we will be handing out donation forms and membership forms. $150 will purchase on wheelchair for a child or adult in need. We raised over $9,500 and additional money is coming in. This should allow us to purchase about 60 people. Thanks to Adan and the other Knights present who were speaking to men about the Knights!
• Special Olympics Basketball at Desoto High School -On March 24^th, we supported a basketball skills event; about 12 knights and their wives were in attendance. This was a wonderful and busy event, and it was wonderful to see all the smiles as we placed medals on the young athletes. 
• Eucharistic Procession-Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday, June 7^th. This will start after the 5 p.m. Mass. Degree ceremonial team would like to help with full regalia. Dr. Roberto Nieto will be coordinating the Knights’ participation in this grand event. Other ministries will be asked to participate. More information to come.

Treasurer’s Report  by Sir Knight James Smith

James reviewed our beginning balance,  monies received, expenditures. We also received the balance of our CD fund

4^th Degree –  SK James Smith –  No report

Knight Hands – SK Allen Reitmeier -Allen said that he is very honored and proud to be part of Knight Hands. The work that we do in the community is amazing. What we do has a big effect on the community. We completed 8 projects. John Owen and Allen replaced a concrete board on the front of a house of Jesse Nobles. Ewe replaced the washer for Diane Lightbody. David Ybarra and Allen bought the washer for $682 total with their own funds. In the director’s meeting, the officers decided to re-imburse both David Ybarra and Allen $200 each for the expense. She sent a text that she feels very blessed! Cynthia Poole passed away, and the family is in the process of selling the home. There was a leak in the roof, so Juan Torres jumped in and repaired the roof. Jesus Montelongo helped to do the drywall repair and painting of part of her ceiling. Mike Fitzgerald has helped Ted Winkler by donating 95 hours taking Ted to doctor’s appointments and arranging his medications for the week (pillbox). Thank you, Mike! We replaced a faucet stem for Juanita Montero. She is a widow. Her husband, a Knight, passed away 5 years ago. Thank you, Allen, and his brother (who was visiting from out of town) for completing this project. We repaired Ida Modano’s car. For all these projects, we receive $150 and spent about $1,073. We have a PIP project coming up this spring. We have to replace 80 feet of fence, fix a gate,  and other repairs on April 24 starting at 8 a.m.

Baseball Concessions – SK Allen Reitmeier

We have worked 62 games and collected $9745. We have a Tim Campbell tournament coming up this weekend and we have 13 games schedules. Please look at our online newsletter to see the men who have done the heavy lifting at the Concession Stand.

Church Activities – Vacant need a new leader here, but David Ybarra and James Smith will train/support

Program & Committee Reports

• Programs
  • Faith –  Marc Evans – Core/Men’s Spirituality/Bible study

                             These sessions are held 2^nd and 4^th Saturdays of the month at 6am in the Room 214. Marc   

                             showed a brief video as part of the Into the Breach series.  The session will focus on the

                             Vocation of Work. As we work, we are shaping ourselves.

• Family – Jeff Miller

He has been involved in the Family Program. In the prayer for the Year of the Family, mentions that we should live a life that leaves a mark, and he hopes to doing the same.

• Community  – Dan Murphy (absent)

Fish Fries for Lent 2026 :  we served 1400 people cost was $8,000 , income was $14,000, and and profit was about $6,000. There are approximate numbers. Marc had everyone who helped with the Fish Fry to stand up and be recognized.  We also thank the wives who came to help as well.

• Life  –  Mike Mouloughney -absent; GK Marc Evans led us in prayer

Stand and Pray 3 Hail Marys to end abortions

• First Hail Mary – for the Unborn
• Second Hail Mary – for the moms of those unborn babies – that they allow their babies to be born
• Third Hail Mary – for those in the abortion industry that they turn away from evil and seek the face of God

• Admissions Committee – PGK Russell Gulley
  1. 1. The Admissions Committee has been busy. The committee has met with Salvador Munoz, his proposer is Adan Luna. He is married and has 2 grown children. We met Joe Simecek is Marc Evans. Tonight, we met three more prospective Knights: Salvador Hernandez, he is retired and lives in Duncanville and worked for Bank of America. Marc Evans is his proposer. Manny Martinez, he is an engineer who works for Lockheed Martin, and he will be getting married in the church later this year. Adan Luna is his proposer. Kevin Carkin, is married and has 2 children, John Owen is his proposer; Russell recommends these 5 men join the Council. A motion was made, it was seconded it, and the motion passed. The Exemplification Ceremony will take place Sunday, April 12^th, at 2:30 p.m. in  the Community Center. Please join us.Nominating Committee -PKG Russell Gulley -At next month’s meeting, a new slate of officers will be presented at the May meeting. The committee consists of Russell Gulley, Dan Murphy, Jorge Ruiz, and Jack Ramsden. A few slots for officers remain open.

• Dallas Diocese Chapter – SK Jorge Ruiz

The Next meeting is Saturday, April 11^th, at St. Gabriel’s the Archangel Church in McKinney, Texas (where Fr. Eugene is Pastor). Meet your fellow Knights from other Councils at this meeting. Breakfast is provided. This is a great time to share ideas and find out what other Councils are doing. If you want to carpool with Jorge, let him know.

The Knights of Columbus State Convention will take place in Dallas April 24-27^th at Sheron Dallas. We can help with casino night if you are interested. You can but tickets at the Diocese of Dallas website and tickets are $35 per person. Every Council sends 2 delegates, and they have been selected. There are daily morning masses. There is a golf tournament at Steven’s Park on Friday, April 24^th, as part of the Convention. We are sponsoring 4 golfers from our Council. The delegates get to vote on State officers and we get to vote on a delegate to the National Convention in Denver, Colorado.

Safe Environment Training will take place on Thursday, March 26^th at 7 p.m. The training is one hour.  Go online and log into your Knight account and register.

Fourth Degree -Saturday, April 18^th, there is a 4^th Degree Exemplification Ceremony. More details to come.

Marc has received and downloaded some materials sent to him from Eben. The topic is funeral planning, and if you have an interest, please let Marc know.  Fraternal event program on funeral planning listened to by all present prior to start of General Meeting.

Unfinished Business 

• Raising Our Donation to Holy Spirit Parish  -At the officer’s meeting, we proposed increasing our yearly donation to the parish from $3500 to $5,000. During the meeting, a motion was made that we raise our donation from $3,500 to $5,000. The motion was seconded, and the motion passed. A second vote will be done at our May meeting. 

New Business 

• Relics of the Cristero Martyrs-by Joe Eubanks and Manny Urias

Joe recommended reading the book, For Greater Glory, that was made into a movie; he was given the book by Rolando and highly recommends the book. Joe mentioned that there have been more Christian martyrs in the past 100 years than there have been in the past centuries combined.

Relics of the Cristero Martyrs from Mexico from the 1930’s were presented at Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Dallas. Manny Urias was able to attend. There is a cross with the relics of the 6 Cristero Martyrs on this cross. Manny learned that these 6 Cristero martyrs were members of the Knights of Columbus. They were canonized as saints by Pope John Paul II. Their names are: Fr. Maria Jose Robles Hurtado, Fr. Luis Batist Saenz, Fr. Mateo Correro Magellanes, Fr. Rodrigo Aguilar Aleman, Fr. Miguel del la Mora, Fr. De Jesus Maldonado Lucero. The priest at the parish emphasized that these relics are not meant to be used to ask for favors but to serve as examples for our Christian faith. Please keep them in your prayers!

  • Pray for Priests in crisis, asking the faithful to support clergy experiencing loneliness, exhaustion, or doubt. The intention highlights a need for community support, mercy, and companionship for priests, emphasizing they are “beloved sons” rather than just “lonely heroes.”

  • For the Synod, fostering a vibrant, growing Church, with key priorities including nurturing priestly vocations, promoting the sanctity of life, increasing catechesis, strengthening families, and deepening missionary discipleship,
