The mission of Knight Hands is to assist those in the Holy Spirit parish area live a more peaceful and stress free life by providing minor home repairs, household chores, and transportation services to those who qualify.
Only Knights of Columbus of this council can refer a needy person to the director of Knight Hands. Thus far since the inception of Knight Hands in May of 2010, Knight Hands has completed nearly 500 projects ranging from 280 man/hours to 2 man/hours. All the jobs were important to the receiver and were most appreciated by all.
The roster of Knight Hands is quite small and we are constantly looking for more Knights who are willing to give of their time and talents to help needy persons in our parish area. The experience of helping others locally is powerful – just ask these older long time Knight Hands – Bob Lamb, Ken Rarick, Ed O’ Brien, David Dybala, or Allen Reitmeier who have been regular Knight Hands.
Charity begins at home and what better way to demonstrate that than by helping those in need in our community. Soon after joining the Knights in 2010, Allen created the Knight Hands program and his natural leadership ability has inspired many brothers to want to participate in this most worthy cause. Thus far since the inception, Knight Hands has completed nearly 500 projects ranging from 2–280 man/hours. The experience of helping others locally is a powerful one as many of our members can attest.
The story of Knight Hands’ inception and implementation were featured in Columbia magazine in the June 2016 issue. Many other Councils around the world inquired of us how to start a Knight Hands program in their Councils.
Join us.
