Each year, those councils participating in the Knight of the Month program should also select a Knight of the Year.
When selecting your council’s Knight of the Year, follow guidelines similar to those used by the committee in choosing each Knight of the Month. Eligible Knight of the year recipients must be a member of the Knights of Columbus. Knight of the Year should be chosen from those families named Family of the Month in the preceding months.
Your judging committee should consider whether each knight has continued to exemplify the traits of a solid Catholic man. Determine which council member stands above the rest in promotion of the principles of our Church and our Order. Which knight can best be called the“model” man for all in the parish to follow? In every aspect of service to the Church, community and council, as well as to each other, which member most deserves the title, Knight of the Year?
