BK Bob Motta jumped right in to help out after becoming a Knight only a few days ago. Behind him are BK Greg Porter on bacon and BK Jim Ouimet on hash browns.

Another “season” of KC breakfasts came to a successful close on Sunday, Dec. 15 as more than a dozen brother Knights stepped forward and served more than 350 guests in the annual “Breakfast With St. Nick” held in conjunction with the parish’s Deborah Garrison, Lisa Estrada and Devin Buschow. With parishioners asked to either bring one unwrapped new toy per guest or make a monetary donation, about 175 toys were collected and about as many people ate via the monetary route. The highlight was our own Leo Mattingly returning to his popular role as St. Nick. Knights prepared and served a breakfast of scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon (Fr. Tuan must have loved that), French toast and Texas toast. Among the council members and their family members taking part were Jack Ramsden, Jim Ouimet, Larry Dumais, Jorge Ruiz, John Espree, Jesse Radillo, Jim Richardson, Art Senato, Bob Motta (only five days after joining the council!), Jeff Miller, Dan Murphy, Al (“Say cheese!”) Alonzo, La’Don Wright, Tim Hart, Greg Porter, Frank Salazar, Hector Lopez and the Gozas (Andy, Susan and Madison). The seating area appeared to be filled near capacity when the crowd after the 9:30 Mass joined those already seated, which is a compliment to Faith Formation’s set up and the KC’s tasty fare. It was another wonderful day at Holy Spirit, and you Knights can certainly be proud.
