[dropcaps] F [/dropcaps] aith is a cherished family activity for Andy and Susan Goza and their 9-year-old daughter, Madison (who is eagerly looking forward to hitting double digits on April 30). Andy is one of three siblings, and all the Goza children attended Mass and religious education willingly. Enthusiastically. Their parents volunteered during class in the community center lobby – and did so up until just a few years ago. It was part of the family fabric that included everyone eating breakfast together, dinner together. “It was something that we enjoyed doing,” Andy said. Susan wasn’t Catholic when she and Andy were married in 1989. She converted about six years ago, primarily for Madison’s sake at the time. “You can’t really tell her, ‘You need to do these things’ unless you do them yourself,” Susan said. But, as is often the case, the convert has become very involved: “I told Andy I should have done this years ago.” Andy joined the Knights in 2008 and served as Grand Knight 2010-12. The Gozas typically attend Saturday Mass with Andy ushering and Madison helping to set up the altar. Madison has attended Faith Formation since she was 3 while also attending St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic School. That allows her to “double up” on friends. And, as Susan noted, it keeps her involved with her parish. Not to mention helping her parents at multiple KC events.
