Clergy Appreciation Dinner

[dropcaps] O [/dropcaps] n Thursday evening November 7th, 2013, Assembly 2799 sponsored the “Southwest Dallas County Clergy Appreciation Dinner” of thanksgiving in conjunction with Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Among the guests of honor were the Most Reverend J. Douglas Deshotel, Auxiliary Bishop, Diocese of Dallas. Attending from Holy Spirit Catholic Church were our own Father Joe Lee, Deacon Al and Jackie Evans, Deacon Paul and Dianne Wood, Deacon Charlie and Norma Ruelas. Also present were Father Ben Molina, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, Father Tim Gollob from Holy Cross and Father Gale White who served as the first Chaplain for the Fourth Degree during its creation.

In total there were about 40 priests, deacons and wives from parishes that included St. Cecilia in Oak Cliff; St. Jude’s Chapel in downtown Dallas to St. Francis of Assisi in Lancaster. The event was well attended by over 140 guests who dined on a traditional Thanksgiving dinner featuring deep fried turkey as the main course with all the trimmings.

The Duncanville Knights of Columbus Council 8157 and Andy Goza, Bill Dover and Chris Anyaibe in particular took charge of organizing this successful event.
