There is no better way to experience love and
compassion than by helping those in need,
a call Knights answer every day.

Knights banded together can accomplish more
than any of us could accomplish individually
in support of our Church and priests.

Knights socialize together and take care of each other –
we have each others’ back.

Members of the Knights of Columbus are proud
of our devotion to God and country,
and believe in standing up for both.

Knights of Columbus Safe Environment

Under Faith in Action, certain state and council officers/chairmen are required to take safe environment training and may also be required to provide authorization for a background check. Some positions also have access to Praesidium’s ARMATUS administration dashboard to view member compliance within their council or jurisdiction.

Praesidium, the order’s safe environment partner, will send emails to the program directors and chairs who are required to complete safe environment training and to provide authorization for a background check. Look for the emails from Praesidium in your inbox or spam folder. These will provide assigned username and password to complete the required training and the link necessary to provide background check authorization. The Knights of Columbus covers all costs associated with these requirements.

Emails are unique to each recipient and cannot be forwarded or used by another director or chair. The time-sensitive notifications require the recipient to complete training and background check authorization within 30 days of receipt or they are subject to removal from those positions.

Why Safe Environment Education?

The KofC Safe Environment Program safeguards children and other vulnerable persons, assures members and their families that we maintain a safe environment, protects members from awkward situations, misunderstandings, and appearances of impropriety, builds trust with arch/dioceses and parishes, and protects the good name of the Knights of Columbus.

For awareness and educational purposes, anyone can take the online training.

Holy Spirit Catholic Church Safe Environment

In addition to meeting the requirements for compliance for Safe Environment with the Knights of Columbus, our council’s knights are also encouraged to meet Holy Spirit Catholic Church’s requirements. Some Knights who may serve as Ushers for example are REQUIRED to be Safe Environment Program (SEP) Cleared.

The Dallas Diocese has produced a Safe Environment Program (SEP) training video titled: Abuse – Recognizing, Responding and Reporting. Everyone is encouraged to watch it since we can all benefit from the education and awareness that can make us better guardians against abuse in our community. You will have to contact the Child Care & Safe Environment Coordinator, Sharon Bush and schedule a time for taking the training for Holy Spirit but you can start by watching the video below:
