Ron Pinkston

Grand Knight 1993-1994

Ron Pinkston was our Grand Knight for the 1993/1994 fraternal year. He was a Knight for seven years before he ran for the Grand Knight position; and Council #8157 benefitted from that decision. During the years prior to making the decision to run for Grand Knight, he was not idle. Ron had been active as Guard, Warden, Recording Secretary, and Chancellor as well as various program directors. Ron joined the Knights of Columbus in Ohio, Council #341 in 1986, moved to Duncanville in 1989, joined Holy Spirit Parish and became a member of Council #8157. Ron believes his greatest accomplishment while Grand was ”being able to increase breakfast attendance which allowed for a gathering place after Mass for parishioners and the financial ability to do more chartable works”. Ron grew up in Levelland, Texas where he graduated from South Plains College. He was called on to protect our country and joined the military. He spent two terms in VietNam from 1966 thru 1968. Upon his discharge from service, he returned to Texas and attended Texas IW&O~o£ Tech for more additional college. After his military commitment and time at Texas Tech, he joined National Oil and worked in Louisiana, West Virginia, Ohio, and Michigan for 35 years. Ron met his wife, Margie, in 1972 thru her father (great way to be introduced and meet) and they were married two years later. Ron and Margie tied the knot at St. John Bosco Church in Alice, Texas and have been married for 38 years. Ron and Magie have three sons- Larry, Chris and Jason and 10 grandchildren.
