The 49th Church Picnic is history

Four hundred hamburgers and as many hot dogs served at the Holy Spirit Parish Picnic on Pentecost Sunday, May 28th, 2023 by the Knights of Columbus, are a sure sign that we have a hungry parish. We were glad to oblige and do our duty to serve free food and help bring the community out to mingle and to share good times with each other. But, full disclosure, we did have donation bottles out in front on the food tables so no one could miss them, and they didn’t and we are grateful for their generosity.

We were fortunate to spend a little time, one last time, with our outgoing Parish Administrator Fr. Eugene Okoli, who, to use the sports analogy, has been traded to the McKinney Parish of St. Gabriel where he will serve in the same role although for a larger parish that’s growing leaps and bounds. We wish him all the best and we will miss Fr. Eugene.

Our thanks to all that helped make the Knights participation a success, especially:
